This 16 Channel 4K Digital Video Recorder is the newest addition to our standalone recorders that we carry. It has a powerful quad core CPU that allows for the recorder to be used in different configurations as either a hybrid DVR or a NVR exclusively with IP cameras over the network using a PoE switch. You can use this camera recorder in either of the following configurations:

  • 16 BNC cameras up to 8MP + 16 IP cameras up to 12MP 4K security cameras
  • 32 IP Cameras up to 12MP 4K

This unit is a Pentabrid type (also called XVR) which means it can accept the following camera types:

  • HDCVI - you can use 4K cameras on all sixteen BNC channels by choosing from our selection of HDCVI cameras here. 4K cameras feature 8MP resolution. HDCVI allows for audio and PTZ controls to be sent over coax wire.
  • TVI - our 4 in1 cameras allow output of TVI signals, but this signal does not provide audio capabilities over video.
  • IP Cameras - our recorders are guaranteed to be compatible with any of our IP cameras up to 12MP resolution.
  • AHD - our 4 in 1 cameras allow output of this signal type, however AHD is not very popular in the USA.
  • Analog Cameras - these are standard definition security cameras that you may have if you are upgrading from older CCTV cameras.

Its ability to record real-time video at 30fps is what makes it the best hybrid DVR as it allows video recording without any sacrifice. For real-time recording, you can record HD over coax cameras at up to 1080P resolution and IP cameras up to 12MP resolution. When using 4K or 4MP BNC cameras, you can record up to 15fps per camera. It has a large 2U size rack-mountable case with plenty of room inside for video storage, it allows up to 8 DVR hard drives for a total of 80TB.

Additionally, HDCVI cameras have shocked the CCTV industry as being a reliable and cost effective HD security camera technology that rivals IP security cameras in resolution, while allowing traditional RG59 coax cabling to be used. Using our Tribrid or Pentabrid recorders you can pick and choose which cameras you'd like depending on the application, the resolution needed, and the cost. They also allow the possibility for large to small scale security installations to be migrated to HD security cameras at a cost far more economical than completely replacing and rewiring an existing camera system to IP.

Let's not forget the capability to view your cameras over the internet using a smartphone, tablet or computer. Using our free remote view apps you can watch your cameras from anywhere in the world! You can also receive motion alert notifications to your mobile device and playback recorded video by simply clicking the notification. You can also get free email alerts, and setup the DVR to upload video off-site to a FTP for added security in case the recorder were to get stolen or damaged. You can also back up video to a USB flash drive or external USB hard drive, or eSATA drive.

All of our DVRs come with free technical support by our expert staff for the life of the item.

Customer Reviews

Easy peasy Review by DVRguy101
I recommend this security cam recorder to anyone looking for using old cctv cameras or newer hd cams, along with ip cameras. While it didn't take some of the cheap reolink ip cameras that I have from amazon, it did work fine with all the ip cameras from camera world. I bought a cheap BV switch for my cameras and the cameras were easy to connect to using the video the support team emailed me over. I was impressed by how quick they respond to email for support. I have never seen that before. The recorder is very easy to use and way easier than the older Hikvision dvr I was using before. (Posted on 10/2/19)
Finally a DVR that works with IP cameras Review by Heather N.
I manage a small restaurant in Queens NY. We wanted a recorder that would work with our older CCTV cameras and some newer IP cameras. I tried recorders from another vendor but the interface was very difficult to use and the manual was difficult to read as well. I researched in to this DVR and submitted a product question before purchasing. I received a prompt reply from their tech support in less than 4 hours with a link to their video guide that gave me confidence in their support abilities, the product, and my ability to follow their instructions. They were very transparent in informing me that they could only guarantee their dvr or nvr to work with their ip cameras. I appreciate that transparency. I like their camera pricing as well which is very fair for professional equipment. I chose to purchase from this company for all these reasons. (Posted on 6/24/19)

I am redoing an old analog camera system at a school, and trying to keep cost down by re-using all the existing cabling and just replacing with better cameras and dvr, currently they have 35 cameras and I will be adding 2 more so i need a dvr that will work with at least 40 cameras for future expansion

Question by: Dave on: 2017-12-04

This DVR is the best possible option for the application you stated. It can support 1080P HDCVI cameras on each of the 16 BNC channel, with the ability to add 48 IP cameras over the network using a PoE switch up to 12mp in resolution.
