License Plate Capture Camera, Long Distance

Long range security camera for license plate capture up to 100ft away for vehicles moving up to 55 mph. This a very rugged outdoor IP66 weather proof rated camera with built-in heater and fan that can be used outdoors in any weather, rain or shine. The camera contains a 5-100mm manual zoom lens that can be adjusted inside the camera and 100ft of infrared night vision, so you can see tags in both day or night. We recommend this camera only for capturing license plates and not for general CCTV use because it has a adjustable shutter that must be set using the internal DIP switches for anticipated vehicle speeds. Setting the shutter at a specific rate allows the camera to see the fast moving plates clearly.

For success at plate capture, we suggest zooming in as much as possible to the area of the field of view where the vehicles is expected to cross, so plates appear as large as possible. If this is not done then the license plate will be too small in the video to decipher the plate text. It is also recommended that the horizontal and vertical angle between the camera and plates be no more than 10°, otherwise passing by plates will appear blurry.

Tech Tip: By no means is this an easy camera to set. If it is your first time using this camera, expect to spend a couple of hours learning how to use it.
