The Avalonix ICM7 is a 7-inch PoE video intercom monitor designed to give you a dedicated indoor screen for answering calls from the IC1080POE video intercom. When someone presses the call button at the entrance, the ICM7 displays the incoming video call so you can see the visitor, speak with them using two-way audio, and remotely release a properly connected electric door strike.

Ray introduces the ICM7 indoor touchscreen monitor and the IC1080POE PoE video intercom. The demonstration focuses on connecting an electric door strike to the intercom and then controlling that strike from the ICM7 over the network.
1:01 - Pair the intercom and monitor first
Before setting up door control, the ICM7 and IC1080POE should already be connected to the same local network and properly configured so they can communicate. The demonstration uses a PoE switch. When the ICM7 and intercom are purchased together from CCTV Camera World, compatible static IP addresses can be configured and the units can be paired before shipment.

The demonstrated electric strike is a power-to-unlock type. It remains locked when its circuit is open and temporarily releases when the circuit is completed. Door hardware varies, so the voltage, current, fail-safe or fail-secure operation, and wiring requirements of the specific strike should always be confirmed before installation.

The IC1080POE uses its connection harness when a door strike is being added. Ethernet is connected to the intercom for network communication and PoE power. During startup, the intercom's tamper switch can produce a loud warning sound when the unit is not mounted in its normal installed position.

The 12VDC strike used in the video remains locked when it is not energized. When the IC1080POE closes the appropriate circuit, the strike receives power and releases the latch. The strike then returns to its locked state after the unlock period ends.

How the ICM7 works with the IC1080POE
A typical visitor call works like this:
- A visitor presses the call button on the IC1080POE at the entrance.
- The incoming call appears on the ICM7 touchscreen.
- You answer the call, view the visitor, and speak using the built-in microphone and speaker.
- If entry should be allowed, you press the on-screen Door 1 control.
- The ICM7 sends the unlock command over the network to the IC1080POE.
- The IC1080POE operates its connected door relay and releases the compatible electric strike.
The electric strike requires its own compatible power source and must be wired to the intercom. The ICM7 does not provide operating power to the electric strike.

The ICM7 gives you a permanent wall-mounted answering station inside the building. The ICM7 uses the camera substream for viewing, with a maximum displayed stream resolution of 720P. ONVIF compatibility can vary by camera model and supported features, so basic video viewing should not be interpreted as a guarantee that camera-side audio, analytics, alarms, or other advanced functions will also be available through the ICM7.
If you want to add additional network camera views, browse our IP cameras. If your goal is continuous recording and playback from multiple cameras, the ICM7 is not a replacement for an NVR. A complete security camera system is the better choice for property-wide recording.
PoE networking and preconfiguration
The ICM7 supports standard 802.3af PoE, allowing network data and power to travel over the Ethernet connection. It can also be powered using 12VDC when appropriate for the installation.
The ICM7 and IC1080POE need to be properly addressed and paired on the local network before they can communicate.
