The AvaEye AEPTZAT4K25 is an NDAA-compliant outdoor 4K PoE PTZ camera with 25X optical zoom, auto tracking, intelligent event detection, and Smart IR illumination up to 656 feet. Built for large outdoor areas

The wide end of the lens helps an operator orient the camera across a yard, parking area, entrance, access road, or perimeter. The telephoto end concentrates the 4K image on a smaller portion of the scene for closer inspection of distant activity.

Optical zoom changes the lens magnification before the image reaches the sensor, preserving more useful detail than enlarging captured pixels with digital zoom. The camera also supports 16X digital zoom for additional on-screen enlargement after the optical lens reaches its maximum telephoto position.

The published DORI planning distances range from approximately 469 to 10,223 feet for detection, 187 to 4,089 feet for observation, 93 to 2,044 feet for recognition, and 46 to 1,022 feet for identification, depending on lens position. Auto tracking

The camera can automatically track people and slow-moving vehicles as they move through the monitored area. Auto tracking works best in low-population scenes where the camera can maintain a clear lock on one target, such as a gated entrance, remote parking area, warehouse yard, farm road, access lane, or property perimeter.

Crowded scenes with several people or vehicles moving at the same time can make target selection and continuous tracking less reliable. Use fixed PoE cameras for uninterrupted coverage of busy areas and use the PTZ for active tracking, presets, patrols, and closer inspection.

Intelligent detection

Intelligent event functions include cross-line detection, intrusion detection, enter-area detection, and leave-area detection. These rules can classify people, non-motor vehicles, and motor vehicles while filtering motion from unrelated objects.

Smart IR night vision up to 656 feet

The camera uses high-output 850 nm Smart IR with automatic or manual control. In complete darkness, it switches to black-and-white video and can illuminate scenes up to 656 feet away. Smart IR adjusts infrared output to help reduce overexposure as a person or vehicle moves closer to the camera.

The quoted 656-foot specification describes the maximum reach of the infrared illumination. The practical distance for identifying a face, reading a license plate, or resolving another small detail will be shorter and depends on zoom position, target size, lighting, weather, scene contrast, mounting height, viewing angle, and movement.

A 0.003 lux color rating and automatic day-and-night switching support color video in low ambient light before the camera changes to infrared mode. Digital wide dynamic range helps balance scenes containing bright and dark areas.

AvaEye NVR integration and local recording

Pair the AEPTZAT4K25 with a compatible AvaEye NVR for centralized live view, recording, playback, PTZ control, remote access, and supported intelligent-event management.

The camera also supports a microSD card up to 512GB, NAS storage through NFS, and Automatic Network Replenishment with compatible recorder workflows. ONVIF Profiles S, G, T, and M provide standards-based integration with compatible third-party recorders.

A properly configured AvaEye NVR, microSD card, or supported NAS can continue recording over the local network without internet service. Internet access is only required for off-site remote viewing, notifications, or other internet-based functions.

External audio and alarm connections

The camera provides one audio input and one audio output for compatible external microphone and speaker equipment. This allows two-way audio when the required external devices are installed, but the camera does not contain a built-in microphone or speaker.

High-power PoE requirements

The camera draws up to 58W and must not be powered from a standard PoE port on an AvaEye NVR. Use the compatible 60W PoE injector or a compatible high-power port on the 4-port Hi-PoE switch.

Connect the separately powered camera and the AvaEye NVR to the same network for recording, playback, PTZ control, and remote access. The camera also supports compatible 24VAC or 24VDC power when the installation is designed for those power methods.

Outdoor installation and compatible mounts

The camera measures 227 mm in diameter x 384.8 mm high, or approximately 8.9 x 15.1 inches. It weighs 12.36 lb and uses a G1 1/2 top mounting interface.
