This Pentabrid DVR recorder, also called XVR, is the best the security industry has to offer at this time for a small form factor. It is a 5MP HDCVI DVR with capability of accepting up to a total of 24 cameras (16 BNC Cameras up to 5MP + 8 IP Cameras up to 6MP). If you are looking to upgrade your existing security camera system or building a new system but want to mix and match HD security cameras, and IP cameras, then this DVR is a perfect choice. It allows use of 5 different types of security camera technologies:

You can browse each of these security camera types by clicking on the linked bullet points above. This XVR supports a lot of different recording configurations. It is definitely a workhorse, and with it completely maxed out, you can have 16 BNC cameras, and 8 IP cameras.

On every BNC input you can use up 5MP, 4MP, 1080P, or 720P HDCVI cameras, and even analog cameras.

If you connect the DVR to a PoE switch, you can also connect up to 8 IP cameras from CCTV Camera World. It will support resolutions up to 6MP for IP cameras, with a total 96 Mbps network camera recording bandwidth. For example, if the 5MP IP camera offers 30fps video, this DVR will record at 30fps.

This 16 channel security recorder is a standalone recorder and does not require a PC for use. It comes with an embedded Linux operating system that stays free of any viruses or Trojans. It comes with the same great user interface as all of our other DVRs, and uses the latest H.265 encoding to record video at great quality while conserving hard drive space. It is easy to set up as well. Simply turn the DVR on and it will boot up to a grid of 16 cameras. Connect your BNC cameras to the back of the DVR using the BNC video inputs, and as each camera is connected it will populate a square denoting video from that camera.

As is true with all of our DVRs, this recorder also has the same plethora of features in addition to those mentioned above. Be sure to choose compatible cameras for use with this DVR. They can be found labeled on our site with the following logo. You can also click this logo to shop for compatible HD security cameras.
