Built-in PoE

Built-in PoE

This 8 Camera NVR comes with 8 built-in PoE ports for easy setup with plug-and-play compatible cameras by AvaEye. Standalone NVRs equipped with built-in PoE ports revolutionize the setup and scalability of security camera systems. These ports not only eliminate the need for complicated configurations, enabling non-technical users to set up their own PoE surveillance system. Using PoE technology, this recorder can power cameras by transmitting electricity and data over the same Ethernet cable. Depending on the camera's power requirements, this NVR can send power to cameras located as far away as 300 feet. Such an NVR, when paired with PoE cameras, creates a comprehensive standalone CCTV system that operates seamlessly without the need for an internet connection.
Remote View Security Camera System

Remote Viewing

With the AvaEye app, available for both iPhone and Android devices, you can effortlessly monitor your system remotely. Wherever you are, maintain a watchful eye on your property, provided your system is connected to a stable broadband internet connection and your phone has a good cellular or WiFi connection.

These advanced analytics deliver crucial insights that are essential to proactive and effective security for any property. It's important to keep in mind that the NVR's AI detection depends on the AI event detection features the camera has.
Sound Recording

Sound Recording

Elevate your surveillance capabilities with our AvaEye NVRs. In addition to capturing video, this NVR is equipped with sound recording, which records sounds from AvaEye cameras with built-in microphones or audio inputs with an external security camera mic. When paired with AI video detection, the NVR provides a comprehensive recording experience, ensuring you never miss a moment in both sight and sound.
Internet Optional

Internet Access Not Required

Curious about what a standalone NVR means? Let AvaEye clarify. Unlike many cloud-based systems that demand an internet connection right from setup, our standalone NVRs work perfectly without one. They utilize Ethernet or network cabling to power and link cameras using PoE Technology, but you'd only need internet if you decided to check your camera feeds from a remote location via our app or PC software. So, you can effortlessly set up your PoE camera system, even in the absence of an internet connection.

Product Questions

Do AvaEye NVR recorders provide built in AI analytics, or do cameras need to support analytics?
Question by: Eduardo on Mar 1, 2026, 9:29 AM
Standard AvaEye NVR models do not generate AI analytics on their own. They rely on AvaEye AI cameras to perform detection functions such as intrusion detection, line crossing, and people counting. The analytics processing happens at the camera level, and the NVR records and manages those AI events.

If you connect third party non AvaEye cameras over ONVIF, the system will record video normally, but advanced AI events will not be triggered unless the camera itself provides that metadata in a supported format.

AvaEye also offers select AI capable NVR models that can perform certain AI functions directly on a limited number of channels. These models can apply specific AI analytics even when using some third party cameras, though channel limits and feature availability vary by model.
Answer by: CCTV Camera World on Mar 2, 2026, 12:30 PM
How does the AvaEye NVR compare with enterprise VMS platforms (like Milestone, ExacqVision, Genetec)?
Question by: Eugene K on Feb 23, 2026, 4:44 PM
The AvaEye NVR is a standalone recorder designed for network camera recording and remote viewing. It excels in straightforward recording, storage, and analytics when used with supported cameras. However, full enterprise VMS platforms like Milestone or Genetec provide broader integration, advanced workflows, and customization for complex deployments. Many organizations replacing old server-based VMS look at both options depending on features required.
Answer by: CCTV Camera World on Feb 27, 2026, 12:54 PM
If I’m replacing an older server-based NVR (like ExacqVision), can I transition my cameras and storage to the AvaEye NVR?
Question by: Frank on Jan 16, 2026, 11:59 AM
Yes, you can transition IP cameras from different brands to any of the AvaEye NVR as long as they are ONVIF-compliant or directly support standard RTSP streaming. You’ll need to reconfigure the camera network profiles such as their IP addresses to work on the new NVR. If your environment uses proprietary VMS licenses (e.g., ExacqVision), those won’t transfer but the cameras themselves can usually be added if they are not locked in by a license for you to access them.
Answer by: CCTV Camera World on Jan 19, 2026, 12:08 PM
Will an AvaEye NVR work with existing IP cameras from another system?
Question by: Robert Mays on Dec 3, 2025, 12:47 PM
In most cases, yes. AvaEye NVRs support standard ONVIF profiles, which allows them to connect to many third party IP cameras from brands such as Axis, Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview, Speco, Uniview, Hanwha, and others.

Basic functions such as live view, recording, and playback typically work without issue as long as the camera is ONVIF compliant. However, advanced features do not transfer between brands. Functions such as two way audio, multi sensor panoramic stitching, camera side smart analytics, and advanced event tagging often require recorders from the same brand. When using third party cameras over ONVIF, those features may be unavailable.

For cameras that do not support ONVIF, AvaEye NVRs also allow manual RTSP stream configuration for both the main and sub stream, which can provide basic video recording compatibility.
