Outdoor 4K PoE Bullet Camera, AvaEye

The AvaEye AECOB4K is an 8MP 4K security camera in a compact bullet housing with a wide 2.8mm lens, built-in microphone, human-body filtering for supported event rules, 98.4ft infrared night vision, and MicroSD recording up to 256GB. Its 107° horizontal field of view is designed for broad coverage rather than long-distance magnification, making it practical for entrances, driveways, storefronts, warehouses, garages, loading areas, and building exteriors.

This is a wired PoE security camera. When connected to a compatible PoE NVR, PoE switch, or injector, one Ethernet cable can carry both network data and power. The AECOB4K can also be powered from 12V DC when PoE is not being used. It does not contain built-in Wi-Fi.

8MP 4K Video with Flexible Frame Rates

The AECOB4K uses a 1/2.7" CMOS image sensor and can record 3840 x 2160 8MP video at up to 15 frames per second. Full 4K resolution is useful when image detail and a wide overview are more important than having the highest possible frame rate.

The camera can also operate at lower resolutions when smoother motion is preferred. Supported modes include 5MP and 4MP at up to 25/20fps, while 3MP and 1080P can reach up to 30/25fps. This gives you flexibility when balancing resolution, motion smoothness, bandwidth, and storage consumption.

The AECOB4K supports H.265, H.264, and MJPEG video compression.

107 Degree Wide-Angle Coverage

The fixed 2.8mm F1.6 lens provides a 107° horizontal, 59.7° vertical, and 111.5° diagonal field of view. That makes the AECOB4K particularly useful when you want one camera to see a large portion of a driveway, entrance, loading area, retail exterior, garage, warehouse, or similar scene.

A wide lens does not provide the same long-distance detail as a motorized zoom or telephoto camera. Using DORI as a planning reference, the 2.8mm lens provides approximately 206.7ft detection, 82.7ft observation, 41.3ft recognition, and 20.7ft identification distances.

In practical terms, the camera can show that activity is occurring much farther away than the distance at which you should expect strong identifying detail. Mounting height, camera angle, available lighting, movement, target size, weather, and other scene conditions affect the actual detail recorded.

If the primary goal is identifying a person or object at a longer distance, consider a motorized zoom security camera instead.

Human-Body Detection for Cross-Line and Intrusion Rules

The AECOB4K supports ordinary motion detection along with more selective cross-line and intrusion rules. For cross-line and intrusion events, the camera can use human-body detection so the rule is focused on a person rather than responding solely to changes in image pixels.

A cross-line rule can be useful when you want to know when a person moves across a selected boundary, such as an entrance path, doorway, or restricted side of a building. Intrusion detection can watch a defined area and generate an event when a human target enters the selected zone.

Built-In Microphone for Video with Audio

The AECOB4K has a built-in microphone, so supported recordings can include sound without installing a separate external microphone. This makes it useful for entrances, customer counters, warehouses, loading areas, offices, and other locations where recorded audio can provide additional context.

The microphone also allows the camera to use supported audio-detection functions. The AECOB4K does not have a built-in speaker and does not provide two-way audio. If live talk-back is required, choose a camera specifically equipped with both a microphone and speaker.

98.4ft Smart IR Night Vision

The AECOB4K includes 850nm Smart IR illumination rated up to 98.4ft. When available light becomes too low for normal color video, the camera can switch into infrared-assisted black-and-white viewing so the scene remains visible in darkness.

Smart IR helps manage infrared output so a person or object moving closer to the camera is less likely to become excessively bright. The quoted 98.4ft figure describes the rated reach of the infrared illumination and should not be confused with an identification distance.

Image-processing features include 120dB WDR, 2D/3D digital noise reduction, HLC, BLC, and digital defog. WDR is particularly useful at entrances and other scenes where bright daylight and shaded areas can appear in the same image.

Record to MicroSD, NVR, or Network Storage

The AECOB4K can record locally to a MicroSD card up to 256GB, allowing the camera to operate as a standalone recording device in supported applications. It also supports ANR and NAS storage using NFS.

ONVIF Compatibility with Third-Party NVRs

The AECOB4K supports ONVIF Profiles S, G, and T along with API and SDK integration. ONVIF allows the camera to provide video and supported functions to many compatible third-party NVRs and video platforms.

Third-party compatibility varies by recorder and software. Basic video and recording compatibility does not guarantee that every camera-side event, audio feature, or configuration option will be available through a third-party interface. A compatible AvaEye NVR provides the most predictable integration with AvaEye cameras.

Plug-In-Free Browser Viewing

The AECOB4K supports plug-in-free live video through compatible versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. This is especially useful for customers replacing older cameras that depended on Internet Explorer, ActiveX, or outdated browser plug-ins simply to view live video.

Browser access can also be useful for live viewing, camera configuration, and system administration from a computer connected to the appropriate network.

NDAA Compliant AvaEye Camera

The AECOB4K is part of the AvaEye series and is NDAA compliant. It is a suitable option for customers and organizations that specifically require NDAA compliant security camera equipment while still wanting a cost-effective 4K PoE camera with audio recording and local MicroSD storage.

Wired PoE Installation with No Built-In Wi-Fi

The AECOB4K connects through a 10/100 Ethernet port and does not contain a Wi-Fi radio. When IEEE 802.3af PoE is used, the same Ethernet cable carries network communication and electrical power. A separate 12V DC input is available when camera power and network connectivity are supplied separately.

The three-axis bullet mount provides 0° to 360° pan, 0° to 90° tilt, and 0° to 360° rotation adjustment. This makes it straightforward to aim the camera along a building wall, across an entrance, down a driveway, or toward another fixed area of interest.
