The AvaEye AECOTD4K is a compact 8MP 4K PoE security camera built around a wide 2.8mm lens, built-in microphone, human-body filtering for supported event rules, 98.4ft Smart IR night vision, and MicroSD recording up to 256GB. Its turret-style housing works especially well beneath soffits, on ceilings, along hallways, above entrances, and in other locations where a compact fixed camera is preferred.

The 107° horizontal field of view covers a broad scene without requiring a motorized lens. Power and network communication can travel over one Ethernet cable when the AECOTD4K is connected to a compatible PoE switch or PoE NVR. A 12V DC input is also available. This is a wired camera and does not have built-in Wi-Fi.

4K Detail for Wide Overview Coverage

The AECOTD4K uses an 8MP 1/2.7" CMOS sensor and records at a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160. At full 8MP resolution, the maximum frame rate is 15fps. That is a useful tradeoff when the purpose of the camera is to capture a detailed overview of a fixed scene rather than fast-action video at 30fps.

If smoother video is more important than recording at maximum resolution, supported lower-resolution settings provide higher frame rates. The camera supports 5MP and 4MP at up to 25/20fps, with 3MP and 1080P modes reaching up to 30/25fps.

Supported video compression includes H.265, H.264, and MJPEG.

107 Degree View from a Compact Turret Camera

The 2.8mm F1.6 lens provides a 107° horizontal view, 59.7° vertical view, and 111.5° diagonal view. This wide perspective works well over doorways, along retail aisles, in office interiors, in warehouse areas, beneath exterior soffits, and in other installations where one fixed camera needs to see a broad portion of the scene.

The camera is designed for wide coverage rather than distant close-ups. Its DORI planning references are approximately 206.7ft for detection, 82.7ft for observation, 41.3ft for recognition, and 20.7ft for identification.

This means someone may be visible in the scene at a considerable distance while still being too far away for reliable identifying detail. Camera height, viewing angle, lighting, movement, weather, target size, and other scene conditions affect what can actually be seen in recorded video.

Human-Body Filtering for Selected Security Events

In addition to conventional motion detection, the AECOTD4K provides cross-line and intrusion rules that can use human-body detection. This allows the camera to focus those particular events on a person rather than treating every change in the image as equally important.

A line can be placed across a doorway, walkway, aisle, or other boundary, while an intrusion area can be drawn around a location where a person entering the zone should generate an event.

Smart IR Night Vision up to 98.4 Feet

Built-in 850nm infrared LEDs provide Smart IR illumination rated up to 98.4ft. When the scene becomes dark, the camera can switch from normal color viewing to infrared-assisted black-and-white video.

Smart IR adjusts the infrared output to help keep nearby subjects from becoming overly bright as they approach the camera. The 98.4ft rating describes the reach of the illuminator and does not mean that a face can necessarily be identified at 98.4ft.

The AECOTD4K also supports 120dB WDR, 2D and 3D noise reduction, HLC, BLC, and digital defog to help improve video in difficult lighting.

Up to 256GB of On-Camera Recording

A MicroSD card up to 256GB can be installed for local edge recording. This makes the AECOTD4K useful both as part of a larger NVR system and in supported standalone applications where a recorder is not required at the camera location.

Network storage options include ANR and NAS using NFS. For customers who want centralized management of multiple cameras, a compatible NVR recorder provides easier search, playback, and multi-camera recording.

Compact Wired PoE Installation

The turret housing measures approximately 5 inches in diameter and 3.7 inches tall. Its three-axis adjustment provides 360° pan, up to 75° tilt, and 360° rotation, making it suitable for ceiling, soffit, and wall mounting in a variety of fixed-camera installations.

The camera uses wired 10/100 Ethernet and supports IEEE 802.3af PoE or 12V DC power. It does not contain built-in Wi-Fi. Maximum camera power consumption is 4W.
