Optimized for Day & Night License Plate Capture

Our testing showed that the camera works well with default settings. The camera requires a microSD card for the ANPR function, which is enabled by default on the camera.

Daytime

This ANPR camera records 1080P HD video at up to 60 frames per second. The high frame rate allows for smoother footage, ideal for identifying plates on moving vehicles. You can digitally zoom in on recorded footage or fine-tune the motorized lens during installation to match your lane width and capture distance.

Nighttime

Most general-purpose security cameras produce glare or whiteout when headlights hit the lens at night. This AvaEye camera avoids that issue with:

Customized Zoom Control

Here’s how it performs at different zoom levels:

• 4.7mm (at wide view): Ideal for short-range installs with 2-lane coverage.
• 47mm (at max zoom): Best for long driveways or parking lot entrances, enabling plate reads at greater distances.

For the best performance, mount the camera within a 15-degree angle of the vehicle’s direction of travel to ensure that IR illumination hits the plate head-on and avoids blurring or distortion.

Installation & Setup Tips

This ANPR camera performs best at controlled chokepoints like driveways, gates, and parking lot entrances. Vehicles passing through should be funneled into a clear, consistent path of travel. The camera is capable of recognizing plates in up to two lanes without needing additional configuration.

Once installed, deploy it on your network using a PoE injector or AvaEye NVR. The camera’s web interface allows for advanced configuration, including allowlist/blocklist creation and visual recognition zones for optimized performance.

Built for durability, the camera’s cast aluminum housing is IP67 weatherproof and IK10 vandal-resistant. A built-in junction box is included for clean, protected wiring.
