AvaEye Core Series 16-Channel 4K Hybrid Security DVR

Upgrade your existing security camera system without replacing every camera or running all new wiring. The AvaEye SC4KDVR16 connects up to 16 compatible analog security cameras through BNC inputs and 8 additional IP cameras over your network, supporting a total of 24 security cameras.

Whether you're replacing an older 16-camera DVR at home, expanding security coverage at a business, or upgrading cameras across a larger property, this hybrid recorder brings modern features to existing coax surveillance systems. It combines 4K recording, built-in AI detection for analog cameras, SCI View remote monitoring and local hard drive storage.

The SC4KDVR16 includes a 1TB hard drive already installed, so you can begin local recording without purchasing a separate surveillance drive.

Keep Your Existing Analog Cameras and Coax Wiring

The SC4KDVR16 supports compatible HD-CVI, HD-TVI, AHD and CVBS analog security cameras, including 4K 8MP, 5MP, 4MP, 1080P, 720P and 960H resolutions.

Keep your existing coax cables and cameras when replacing an older DVR. Upgrade important locations to newer, higher-resolution cameras over time rather than replacing every camera at once.

Mix different camera resolutions on adjacent BNC inputs. For example, connect a 4K camera to one channel, a 5MP camera to another and a 1080P camera to the next. This flexibility is useful when older and newer cameras are installed throughout the same property.

Built-In AI Detection for Analog Security Cameras

The SC4KDVR16 adds intelligent detection to compatible analog cameras through the recorder itself. Its built-in analog AI supports person detection, vehicle detection, perimeter intrusion, line crossing, face detection and face recognition.

Use person and vehicle detection to focus on people and vehicles instead of ordinary motion. Configure line crossing or perimeter intrusion detection to monitor important entrances, gates and other areas around your property.

The recorder supports one AI rule per analog channel, giving you the flexibility to select an intelligent detection function for supported camera channels.

Because these AI functions operate through the DVR, you don't have to replace every existing analog camera with an AI-enabled IP camera to benefit from intelligent event detection.

Add 8 IP Cameras and Expand to 24 Total Channels

Connect 8 additional IP cameras over your local network while keeping all 16 analog BNC camera connections available. This allows you to add modern network security cameras where you need improved coverage without changing your existing analog installation.

Adding IP cameras does not disable the DVR's built-in analog AI detection. The recorder also supports intelligent events from compatible AvaEye and SCI IP cameras, with one AI rule per compatible IP camera in the AvaEye Core Series.

Unused analog channels can also be converted to IP channels. When all analog channels are converted, the SC4KDVR16 supports up to 24 IP cameras in IP-only mode. The maximum total is 24 cameras in any supported configuration.

4K Recording and HDMI Monitor Viewing

Record compatible analog security cameras at resolutions up to 4K 8MP Ultra HD. The recorder also supports 5MP, 4MP and HD camera recording, allowing different camera resolutions throughout your installation.

H.265 and H.264 video compression help manage storage requirements while preserving recorded video quality.

Connect the DVR directly to a 4K television or security monitor using HDMI. The on-screen interface lets you view live cameras, search recordings and manage your system using a USB mouse.

Additional VGA and BNC monitor outputs are included. The DVR supports simultaneous recorded video playback from up to 16 channels.

Monitor Your Security Cameras Remotely with SCI View

Check on your property using the SCI View mobile app and desktop software. Once the DVR is connected to your network and remote access is configured, you can watch live camera feeds and review recorded footage while away from the recorder.

Whether you're monitoring a storefront after closing, reviewing activity at a warehouse, or checking cameras around your home, SCI View provides convenient access to your surveillance system.

Supported security events also provide push notifications and email alerts so you can stay informed about configured activity.

1TB Hard Drive Included, Expandable to 40TB

Keep your recordings on local surveillance hard drives without paying monthly cloud storage fees. The SC4KDVR16 has two SATA hard drive bays supporting up to 20TB per drive, for a maximum of 40TB total storage.

Included Hard Drive: This DVR ships with a 1TB hard drive installed for local video recording. Additional storage is available by upgrading or adding compatible drives.

Recording retention depends on the number of cameras, video resolution, frame rate, bitrate and recording schedule. For larger systems with many cameras, additional hard drive capacity provides more space for recorded footage.

Audio Recording, Alarm Connections and Gigabit Ethernet

The SC4KDVR16 includes 16 RCA audio inputs for supported microphones and external audio sources. Four audio connections are located on the recorder, and the remaining 12 use an audio breakout cable connection.

The DVR also features 16 alarm inputs and one alarm output for connecting compatible alarm devices. Standard motion detection, video-loss detection, audible alerts and supported event notifications are available.

A Gigabit Ethernet port connects the DVR to your local network and compatible IP camera equipment. The recorder also includes front USB 2.0, rear USB 3.0, eSATA and RS-485 interfaces.
