Keep Your Existing Cameras and Wiring
The SC4KDVR8 supports HD-CVI, HD-TVI and AHD analog security cameras in resolutions from 960H and 720P through 1080P, 4MP, 5MP and 4K 8MP. Connect cameras over their existing coax cables and update selected locations to higher resolution instead of replacing the whole system at once.

Built-In AI Detection for Analog Cameras
Get more useful security alerts from your coax camera installation. The DVR provides recorder-side AI for analog cameras, including person detection, vehicle detection, perimeter intrusion, line crossing, face detection and face recognition. One AI rule per analog channel is supported. These intelligent functions let you focus on meaningful activity rather than reviewing every motion event.
Unlike systems that depend entirely on AI-equipped IP cameras, this AvaEye DVR processes supported analog-camera AI through the recorder itself. It's an effective way to modernize a wired security system while keeping compatible analog cameras.
Add IP Cameras Without Losing Analog AI
Connect 4 additional IP cameras through your network while keeping all 8 analog BNC connections available. Adding IP cameras does not disable AI detection on analog camera channels. The DVR also receives intelligent events from compatible AvaEye and SCI IP cameras; AvaEye Core Series supports one AI rule per IP camera.
When you no longer need some BNC channels, convert them to IP use. The recorder supports up to 12 IP cameras in IP-only mode, with 12 as its maximum total camera count in any configuration. Sharp 4K Video and Easy Local Viewing
Record compatible analog cameras at resolutions up to 4K 8MP, with H.265 and H.264 video compression. Connect the DVR to a 4K television or monitor using HDMI to view your cameras directly and manage the system through its on-screen menu and USB mouse.
VGA and BNC monitor outputs offer additional viewing options. Recording frame rates vary by camera resolution and are listed in the specifications below, separate from the HDMI display resolution.

Local Recording with Up to 40TB Storage
Store footage on installed surveillance hard drives instead of paying a monthly cloud recording fee. Two SATA bays support up to 20TB per drive, 40TB total. Choose drive capacity based on how many cameras you use and how much recording history you want to retain.

Included Hard Drive: This DVR includes a 1TB hard drive for local video recording. Additional storage is available by upgrading or adding compatible drives.
Audio, Alerts and Security System Connections
The SC4KDVR8 includes 8 RCA audio inputs and 8 alarm inputs for supported microphones and alarm devices. It also offers motion detection, video-loss alerts and alarm output for compatible connected equipment.
