The CCTV Housing with Infrared is an outdoor security camera housing for use with Box Cameras. As long as your Box camera is sensitive to detecting IR LED light, you can expect up to 328ft of night vision in complete darkness.
The enclosure uses 24V AC power input which is needed to power the IR, built-in heater blower, and wiper.
There is a built-in heating element to keep the camera warm, and internal fan helps circulate and vent out air in hot weather to ensure camera operation at housing temperatures up to 140°F.
We recommend using any the Avalonix Premium Series 2K IP based Box cameras that accept PoE or 24V AC power.
Please note that most box cameras are not infrared sensitive, which means they will not be able to see in darkness even when used with this enclosure that has IR LEDs. It is commonly assumed that cameras with the Day & Night feature will pick up infrared light, however it is incorrect to assume so.
At CCTV Camera World we carry specific Infrared Sensitive Box Cameras that can be used with this enclosure. However, using the IP based Box Camera sku IP4MPBX allows for control of the wiper and IR LEDs using the camera's built-in web interface when connexions inside the enclosure are tied to the RS485 port on the camera.
