16 Channel 4K Security DVR

This 16 Channel DVR is a new addition to our line of mini 16 camera DVRs featuring one SATA port. It is a cost effective choice for the customer looking to take advantage of the highest possible security camera resolutions over RG59U coaxial wire. It is a powerful hybrid DVR that supports up to 4K resolution security cameras over RG59U coax cabling. Even if you have cameras purchased elsewhere, you can use them with this DVR as long as they meet the resolution and signal types supported by this DVR. This 16 camera security DVR is classified as a Pentabrid DVR due to its support for five different video signal types as explained below.

As explained in our security camera guide, in the past IP cameras were required if you wanted resolutions greater than 1080P. That is no longer the case thanks to HD security cameras over coax, which make it possible to send 4MP or 4K video over good quality coax wire. HD over coax cameras are great for use in upgrading existing camera systems, or in new security systems where you want to avoid complicated computer networking that's associated with IP cameras. This 16 Channel 4K Security DVR is one of the best the security industry has to offer at this time for a small DVR with one hard drive slot. It can accept a total of 24 cameras in a variety of different configurations. For the simplest setups, it can be used for 16 BNC Cameras + 8 IP Cameras. If you want to get technical, you can also switch each BNC channel to a network channel and add more IP cameras. Please note you will need a PoE switch to add IP cameras to the same network as the DVR.

This 4K Security DVR supports a lot of different recording configurations. It allows use of five different types of security camera technologies:

• Analog CCTV cameras up to 960H resolution. Your old security cameras will work.
• HDCVI cameras up to 8MP on any BNC input on the back of the DVR
• AHD or TVI cameras up to 5MP on the BNC inputs

It supports one hard drive up to 8TB, providing plenty of storage space for recording footage.

This 16 channel XVR has a high speed processor with embedded Linux operating system that stays free of any viruses or Trojans. It comes with the same great user interface as all of our other DVRs, and uses H.264+ encoding to record video at great quality while saving 25% more storage space compared to regular H.264.

It does not sacrifice on any of the features or reliability that our larger more expensive DVRs offer. You can use PTZ cameras of either HDCVI or IP camera type with this DVR. You can also add our security camera with built-in audio across all BNC channels, or add our IP cameras with built-in mic.

All of the DVRs we sell include tons of features, most important of which is video based motion activated recording that you can use to save hard drive space and record only when motion is detected by the intelligent software on this DVR. As of late 2018, our new DVRs feature Smart Detection to fine tune event detection, using intelligent methods like a virtual tripwire. Either motion or smart detection can be set to notify you using a push alert to your mobile device when an event is detected, and you can also playback video from your phone or tablet.
