00:00 - Introduction to the IPTZ4K40
Here is a video demonstration of the IPTZ4K40. It is a 4K PTZ security camera with a 40X optical zoom lens. I am going to show you what to expect from the camera's zoom.
00:12 - Purpose of the nighttime test
This is a quick video being made for a customer who wants to view something specific at night, which in this case would be markings on a boat.
00:25 - Starting the test at approximately 70 feet
I am going to zoom the camera toward several objects positioned about 70 feet away. First, you can see what an illuminated exit sign looks like through the camera.
00:33 - Testing printed markings
Now I am trying to pick up markings on written material. This is the closest test I can perform to demonstrate what markings on a boat may look like. I do not know exactly what those markings look like or what material they are made from, so I am testing several different examples.
00:54 - Viewing a shipping label
This is a label on a package containing Cat5 network cables. You can see the printed information while the area is illuminated.
01:01 - Turning off the lights
I am going to turn the lights off and see what happens when the camera's infrared night vision begins working. This will show how the same labels and materials appear at night.
01:20 - How reflective objects affect infrared exposure
There are multiple objects in view. The camera adjusts its infrared exposure based on what is reflecting the infrared light. In this case, the license plate is reflecting a large amount of infrared light.
01:34 - Removing the license plate
I am going to remove the license plate and repeat the test because it is the most reflective object in the scene.
01:39 - Second infrared test
The license plate has now been removed. I will turn off the lights again so we can see how the remaining objects look under infrared illumination.
01:50 - Comparing different label materials
This is what the camera sees in infrared mode. The red reflective sticker is clearly visible. Next to it is a regular paper label, followed by another type of paper label that does not reflect infrared light in the same way.
02:12 - Writing visible on cardboard
You can also see writing on the cardboard while the camera is in infrared mode.
02:18 - Why some markings are difficult to see
Some materials are harder to see if the ink or surface does not reflect infrared light. For example, the fragile label does not appear clearly because it does not use reflective ink.
02:23 - What the test demonstrates
This test provides a practical indication of what may be visible with an infrared security camera. In this case, it is the IPTZ4K40 4K PTZ camera with 40X optical zoom from CCTV Camera World.
