At CCTV Camera World we believe in offering products that we would use ourselves on a daily basis, and this camera is a fine example of that. As of November 2018, this Long Range Infrared Security Camera with Night Vision was upgraded to a 2MP CMOS image sensor with capability to output video in four different signal formats, i.e. Analog (aka CVBS), HD-CVI, AHD, and TVI. So not only can you use it with your older analog security DVR, you can also use it with any of the new high definition DVRs utilizing the aforementioned HD over coax signals. Effectively this is a 4-in-1 Outdoor Security Camera that outputs in analog resolution (D1 and 960H) or HD resolution.

If you are looking for a reliable outdoor security camera with tons of night vision, then you've landed in the right place. This security camera is equipped with a 2MP Sony Image Sensor that provides exceptional quality video. When compared to analog cameras, the image produced by this camera is clearer thanks to it 2MP image sensor. Once purchased, our customers always come back to purchase more of these.

It features a 2.8mm-12mm varifocal motorized lens allowing for adjustments to be made to the angle of view of the camera from the DVR if you are using a compatible HD DVR. The viewing angle can be adjusted from 90 to 20° by hand at the camera using the provided allen key. Being able to set the exact viewing angle makes this camera a favorite among installers. The outdoor security camera also has the day/night feature that allows the camera to switch to black & white in low light conditions or when the infrared LEDs turn on. It has 10 Super IR LEDs that provide up to 300ft of night vision to the camera in darkness which is great for general surveillance in long distance applications such as the following:

  • Looking out at a deep driveway or back yard
  • Monitoring large parking lots
  • Homes in a rural area with little or no street lights

Not only does this outdoor camera have tons of infrared, it also has a very important feature called Smart IR built-in to the image sensor's programming to compensate for IR glare. This feature is always on to make sure you get the best possible night time video all the time. It also has Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) that aids in reducing picture noise that is commonly found in low light conditions.

The 3-axis bracket makes it possible for the camera to be mounted on a wall, ceiling, pole or any other flat surface. The bracket also conceals the camera pigtail thus preventing cable snipping.

You will need a DVR not NVR to connect this camera to:
Click here to view compatible DVR

Once you connect your DVR to your WiFi router, then you can access it over WiFi on the local network, or if you have internet, you can access wirelessly from anywhere. The DVR itself is not wireless, it is the router you have that makes it wireless accessible at home or outside.

Will this camera work on a Lorex MPX42W surveillance system

Question by: Raul on: 2016-09-10

Since the Lorex system you have is HDCVI 1080P and this camera outputs HDCVI 1080P, this camera will work with your Lorex security camera system. FYI, all of 1080P Lorex Analog MPX systems are HD over coax systems that use HDCVI technology, and any of our HDCVI cameras will work with them.

300ft Long Range Night Vision HD Security Camera

Question by: janie on: 2017-01-20

Please note a 300ft infrared camera does not mean that you can see a face 300ft away. To be able to see a face 170ft away, you will need a camera with a lot of zoom on it. You would need this camera, Super Long Range Infrared Security Camera.

Answer by: Tech Support on: 2017-01-31

Question by: Rich Steger on: 2017-08-07

Answer by: Tech Support on: 2017-08-07

Can I mount this indoors to look through a window with a screen down a 300 foot driveway with a street lamp at the end of the 300ft and get decent video?

Question by: Theresa on: 2017-11-08

You cannot mount a security camera with infrared LEDs behind a window to look outside because the infrared light would bounce of the glass of the window and cause IR reflection. You would need to mount this security camera outside.

Answer by: Tech Support on: 2017-11-13

Is this camera internet protocol compliant? meaning is it an IP camera?

Question by: TAIWO SAMUEL on: 2018-04-06

As stated in the product description, this is a 4-in-1 security camera that can output 4 different kinds of analog video signals. This is not an IP camera. Three of the signals are HD video formats over coax, and the fourth signal is analog composite video output (CVBS) which works with older analog DVRs and televisions. You can use a switch on the camera to change the video output. Please see the product description for a complete description.

Answer by: Tech Support on: 2018-04-07

Does this camera use wifi and does it work on movement or events? Can I view from my phone? I'm also wondering about storage of the videos? Where are the file stored? It will also be used outside and temps can get to below zero.

Question by: Bob Bessette on: 2018-07-06

The HD9832 is a HDCVI camera. As per its specs and description, it is a coax based camera. You would need a security camera recorder to record video with this camera, and cameras like this are not wireless. Please watch our video about how to choose a security camera to learn more about different camera types we offer.

Answer by: Tech Support on: 2018-07-06

I want to buy this camera, but I need to ask a question. Does this camera work with Swann DVR4-Pro Net with 160 GB HDD Model No. SW242-SR6. This is an analog DVR, I also have an old analog tv with a converter box to watch High defination T.V. Please respond back as quickly as possible. Thanks!!

Question by: Jason Jackman on: 2019-05-28

You can use it in analog mode but that will not give you a HD picture. To get a HD picture from a 4in1 camera you need a HD input capable dvr recorder like these. Please read this 4in1 camera review to gain a better understanding.
