There are no overwhelming setup processes. Within minutes of connecting them to power, the cameras pair with the included WiFi network video recorder. Cameras can go anywhere within 250 feet of the NVR with line of sight. The WiFi signal can still reach up to 100–150 feet even through non-metal walls, something that old-school analog wireless couldn’t do. There are no subscriptions to store or watch video from your cameras, and remote viewing apps are available free of charge. You can purchase this kit with 2, 4, or 6 WiFi cameras.
Unlike cameras that come in kits from retail stores that only power on when detecting motion, these cameras are up and running 24/7, vigilantly protecting your property. Does this WiFi dome camera system require internet?
No. This is a standalone WiFi NVR system. The dome cameras connect directly to the NVR over WiFi for live viewing, recording, and playback. Internet is only needed if you want remote viewing from a phone or computer.
How are the dome cameras powered?
These are WiFi cameras, not battery cameras. Each camera uses a 12V power adapter for continuous power so the cameras can stream and record reliably.
How far can the dome cameras be from the WiFi NVR?
Up to 250 feet with a clear line of sight. In many real installations with non-metal walls and typical obstructions, expect about 100 to 150 feet depending on interference and building materials.
Is there a monthly fee or subscription?
No. There are no monthly fees or subscriptions. Recording is stored locally on the NVR hard drive, and the remote viewing apps are free to use.
Should I choose dome cameras or bullet cameras?
Dome cameras are a good fit when you want a compact look and easy mounting under eaves or ceilings. Bullet cameras are a good fit when you want a more visible deterrent and easier aiming. Can I add more cameras later?
Yes, as long as you stay within the NVR camera limits for this WiFi NVR model. Many customers start with fewer cameras and expand later as they add coverage.

Yes. Our professional Avalonix IP cameras support audio detection, and this setting can be managed through the camera’s built-in web interface.
To access these options, the user would open a web browser such as Chrome or Firefox on a Mac or PC that is connected to the same local network as the camera. After logging into the camera through the browser, they can go into the settings menu and turn audio detection on or off as needed.
In simple terms, audio detection lets the camera listen for sound changes in the area and respond when noise reaches a level you set. Through the web interface, the user can enable the feature, adjust how sensitive it is, set the threshold for what should count as an audio event, and choose what the camera should do when sound is detected. For example, the camera can be set to trigger recording or capture a snapshot when an audio event occurs.
