How do I record 8MP PoE IP cameras?

Just like any of our IP cameras, they can be installed as part of a complete camera system with a network video recorder (NVR) or as a standalone recording solution with an SD card. Our NVR systems all offer 8MP recording across all channels, while our higher end versions also support the higher 12MP resolution. If you want video retention longer than 2 days for a couple of cameras, we recommend getting an NVR.

A PC or Mac computer, as well as a router, are required for using an IP PoE camera as standalone. If you simply want to install a couple of cameras and are comfortable with only 2 to 3 days of continuous recording, choose a security camera with an SD card. Types of UHD Cameras

15 Frames per Second (fps)

The initial generation of UHD cameras, with 15 frames per second, is still one of the most popular options. Don't get stuck thinking that a greater frame rate is required; 15 fps is more than adequate for most security reasons.

30 Frames per Second (fps)

With upgraded technology, our Ultimate Series cameras can record at 30 fps. They are useful in areas with high foot traffic, where products are manufactured and stored, or where money is exchanged.

Cameras with Audio
