Port forwarding with the UBEE model DDW365 TWC is a very simple and easy process. There is a port forwarding section within this router that you access to make what are called “port rules.” These rules allow select traffic from the internet to access certain devices on your network that the rules are being made for.  These port rules are crucial for viewing your security system online or on your phone. You can use this guide as a resource to add any port rules on your router for any device you might be adding. For your surveillance system there are specifically two rules that need to be made in order for your DVR to be accessible from online.

You must make one port rule for Port 80 and one for Port 37777. Port 80 is a port that is commonly used by other services, so if there is another application using port 80 you can make it something else like port 8080. You must however change the HTTP port in your DVR’s network menu from 80 to 8080 or this will not work. Its important to know all of your your network IP address and information first.  If you help finding this information click here:  https://www.cctvcameraworld.com/port-forwarding-router/

1) Access your router You must access the router using your internet browser in order to make any changes within it. To do this, you must first know your Default Gateway (Router’s IP address). For these model of routers, normally it is 192.168.0.1. Type this address directly into your internet browser’s address bar at the top to bring up the router. 6-25-2015 11-42-23 AM From here you will be prompted for your login credentials. If you do not know you login info you can search online for the manufacturer defaults, or call your internet service provider and they should be able to help you. Once you have logged into your router continue to the next step. 6-25-2015 11-44-36 AM 2) Navigate to the Port Forwarding section Next you must find the section of the router you need to access in order to make the port rules. At the top of the page you will see several options. Click the option for “advanced” to bring up several more options on the left of the screen. 6-24-2015 5-17-00 PM (Copy) On the left hand list of options there will be one that reads “Forwarding.” Click this to go on to the next section where we will create the rules. 6-24-2015 4-38-05 PM (Copy) 3) Create Port Rules Now the “Forwarding” menu will be in front of you. Click the option “Create IPv4”. 6-24-2015 4-41-02 PM (Copy) Here we will make our first port rule for port 80. You will see several slots where information needs to be typed in. We will go over their slots and what you must input.

3.1) Local IP The first area is labeled “Local IP.” Here you will type in your DVR’s IP address on your local network. If you do not know your DVR’s IP you can find it in your DVR’s networking section. 6-24-2015 4-41-59 PM (Copy) 3.2) Local Start Point / Local End Point These two sections must be filled with the number of the port you are creating the rule for. In this case, put “80” in both of these sections.

3.3) External start port / External end port Both of these sections must also be filled with the port number of the port you are making the rule for. Put “80” in both of these sections as well.

3.4) Protocol Here in the drop down menu there will be options for “TCP”, “UDP” , or “BOTH”.  You must make sure to select “BOTH” for these rules.

3.5) Description Here you insert whatever you want to name your new port rule. Make it something you can easily find again, such as “port 80”.

3.6) Enabled Under enabled you want to make sure “on” is selected so you activate the rule you just created. After all these steps are completed, hit “Apply” to create the rule. You have just created the necessary port rule for your system. Next, repeat these steps and create a new rule for port 37777. You follow all the same steps but you use the number 37777 in place of every 80. Once both of these rules are created you should be ready to access your DVR from online or by your phone. 6-24-2015 4-43-12 PM (Copy) 4) Scanning your Ports Last, you want to make sure that the rules you configured are applied to your router and active, meaning that these ports are now open for use. You can check if your ports are open by scanning the ports. Go to GRC.com to scan for open ports on your internet connection. This must be done from the same internet connection as to which the DVR is connected. 6-23-2015 12-32-39 PM Click Proceed to begin, and wait for the next page to load. When the page reloads, you will then type just the two port numbers in the search bar separated by a comma such as "80, 37777" not  "port 80, port 37777."  Click "User Specified Custom Port Probe" to check for open ports on your router. 6-23-2015 12-32-56 PM Look only at the status next to each port after the scan is complete  If the status next to the ports is "Open", then the port rules should be applied correctly and you are done. If they say "Closed" then the rules were not created properly or there is some other issue happening.  If they say "Stealth" however, this points to an issue with your internet service provider (ISP). Your ISP is blocking these or all ports from being used for whatever reason and you will have to contact them to resolve this issue.
