If you want to connect multiple PTZ cameras to one DVR or PTZ controller then this simple device is they key. Simply connect the positive and negative leads from the RS485 output on your pan tilt zoom cameras to this block. Then connect this block's wires in to the positive and negative input on your joystick controller or DVR. It does not require any power so it is a passive device.

Do i need to strip the wires or can you insert the pin ends from most Rs485 ends on PTZ cables? Thanks. Been looking for one of these rather than twisting the cables together.

Question by: Richard Mills on: 2018-08-18

Yes you do need to strip the wire and expose the copper conductor on the wires, otherwise a signal will not transmit.
