Description

Details

This 8 Channel DVR is compatible with a wide array of camera resolutions and signal types. It is a powerful hybrid DVR that supports up to 4K security cameras over RG59U coax cabling. Even if you have cameras purchased elsewhere, you can use them with this DVR as long as they meet the resolution and signal types supported by this DVR. This 4K security DVR supports a combination of five security camera signal types which can be found here. These five types include HDCVI, TVI, and AHD coax cameras that can send high definition video over siamese security camera cable. You can also use IP cameras purchased from CCTV Camera World to setup a hybrid security camera system consisting of coax BNC cameras and network cameras.

As explained in our Security Camera Buying Guide, in the past IP cameras were required if you wanted resolutions greater than 1080P. That is no longer the case thanks to HD security cameras over coax, which make it possible to send 4MP or 4K video over good quality coax wire. HD over coax cameras are great for use in upgrading existing camera systems, or in new security systems where you want to avoid complicated computer networking that's associated with IP cameras. If you are looking for a complete system be sure to check our security cameras system page.

This 8 Channel 4K Security DVR is one of the best the security industry has to offer at this time for a small form factor with one hard drive slot. It can accept a total of 12 cameras (8 BNC Cameras + 4 IP Cameras). It allows use of 5 different types of security camera technologies:

You can browse each of these security camera types by clicking on the linked bullet points above. This 4K Security DVR supports a lot of different recording configurations.

If you connect the DVR to a PoE switch, you can also connect up to 4 IP cameras from CCTV Camera World along with 8 BNC cameras. You can also set the DVR to record all IP cameras across all 12 available channels, making it essentially a NVR. In this mode, the DVR will support a total of 48Mbps network camera encoding bandwidth.

It supports one hard drive up to 8TB, providing plenty of storage space for recording footage.

This 8 channel high definition DVR has a high speed processor with embedded Linux operating system that stays free of any viruses or Trojans. It comes with the same great user interface as all of our other DVRs, and uses H.264+ encoding to record video at great quality while saving 25% more storage space compared to regular H.264.

It does not sacrifice on any of the features or reliability that our larger more expensive DVRs offer. You can use PTZ cameras of either HDCVI or IP camera type with this DVR. You can also add our security camera with built-in audio across all BNC channels, or add our IP cameras with built-in mic.

All of the DVRs we sell include tons of features, most important of which is video based motion activated recording that you can use to save hard drive space and record only when motion is detected by the intelligent software on this DVR. As of late 2018, our new DVRs feature Smart Detection to fine tune event detection, using intelligent methods like a virtual tripwire. Either motion or smart detection can be set to notify you using a push alert to your mobile device when an event is detected, and you can also playback video from your phone or tablet.

I own this DVR. Unfortunately I did not buy from you guys. I wish I had. But anyway, I need some information on audio connection. I saw the blog on the connections, but I'd like to know what is the difference between HDCVI and local under the boxes that are to be checked for the Audio? I have connected the microphone to the rg59 Siamese witb a 3 way BNC hoping that it would carry the signal for audio along with video on the same cable. I read that it could and the option seems to be there, but I'm totally not getting anything to work

Question by: Nick Rice on: 2016-11-15

You need a HDCVI with integrated mic to send audio over the ENCODED HDCVI signal. A three way splitter will not work.

I am looking for a DVR for my outdoor security system. I currently have a few wired analog/tvi/cvi/ahd cameras. Looking to upgrade my DVR to be able to add some IP cameras as well. Min of 4 wired and 2 IP required. Need to be able to easily link to viewing on internet. My current DVR has a horrible internet setup and app. Also need 10 days of storage. I am happy to add the hard drive to it as long as it allows that.

What dvr do you recommend?

Question by: Rachel on: 2019-04-21

For the recorder you are looking for the one you submitted the question will be your best bet if you ever want to upgrade any of your cameras to 8MP or 4K with CVI or IP cameras. As far as recording goes it depends on the resolution, frame rate and bitrate of the cameras you have. As an overestimate you would need 3TB for 6 cameras running 24/7 recording 4MP 30FPS.

Answer by: Tech Support on: 2019-05-14

I am a security installer and I was looking into this DVR for use with 4 to 6 of the HD26WA cameras you also sell. Can every input record and stream audio as well or will it be limited to a single camera input? Also, if not future proofing, would this XVRP084K be a good choice as well? Thank you in advance!

Question by: David on: 2019-10-20

The 1080P security camera with audio, sku HD26WA, allows for audio to be sent over the coax wire using the HDCVI protocol. This type of transmission is compatible with any of the digital video recorders we sell. All of our DVRs like the XVRP084K allow for audio input over each camera channel when using the HD26WA or other HDCVI security cameras with audio that we sell.
